Monitors (HTTP / Ping / Port)

Created on 1 July, 2026 • Monitor Types

Monitor websites, APIs and network services for availability

Monitors (HTTP / Ping / Port)

Monitors continuously check whether an address is reachable and alert you when something changes.

Website Monitor (HTTP/HTTPS)

Checks whether a URL responds with a successful HTTP status. Ideal for websites, REST APIs and webhooks.

What gets checked: HTTP status, response time, SSL certificate validity, response content (keyword check).

Ping Monitor

Sends an ICMP ping to a host and checks if it responds. Ideal for servers and network devices where you want to verify the host is online without an HTTP service.

Port Monitor (TCP)

Checks whether a specific port on a host is open. Examples:

  • Port 22 (SSH) — check if SSH access is available
  • Port 3306 (MySQL) — check if the database is reachable
  • Port 25/587 (SMTP) — check the email server

Advanced settings

  • Check interval: frequency (1 minute to several hours)
  • Timeout: maximum wait time before marking as failure
  • Ping servers: choose from which geographic regions to check

Incidents

When a monitor detects a failure, an incident is automatically created. Go to Incidents to see the full history with duration and resolution times.
